OILY FISH GASTRONOMIC CAMPAIGN

For 25 years, a traditional gastronomic campaign has been organised, based on the main activity of the town: fishing, which is carried out with a typical "teranyina" boat to capture the local oily fish. The presentation of the Oily Fish gastronomic campaign takes place the first Saturday of the campaign in the Rambla Vidal. The restaurants that take part in it offer Oily Fish tapas for just 1€.

FRIDAY 9th JUNE

8.30 pm. OPENING SHOW 
Itinerary: Monastery, c/Hospital, Placeta Sant Joan, Rambla A. Vidal, Passeig del Mar 
Actua Produccions - Parade, circus, giant puppets in the streets (TP)

This performance is created for the Explica'm, 2nd Tale Fair inauguration. Live music, jugglers and lots of magic to start a weekend full of tails.


9.30 pm. FIREWORKS 
On the beach
Pirotècnia Valenciana - Fireworks (TP)

These fireworks combine rhythm, colour, sound and shapes that will lead us to the magic corners of the imagination. It's a story that can be differently interpreted but always has a happy ending.


11.00 pm. A TOT GAGS!

The receipt that PuntMoc use is humour and rhythm: things that are transformed, highways on the stage, a silent musical... and laughs. Plenty of laughs. It's a story that gets speed and energy every second. Don't believe all that your eyes see! All can change anytime and turn into what you don't expect. But it doesn't matter. 

SATURDAY 10th JUNE

From 10am to 8pm. TALE FAIR 
Town Centre

You will find book stalls, illustrators and craftsmen with products related to the tales in the town centre.

It's a space to let creativity run thanks to this well-known brand of school material. Children will have the time to colour the Explica'm characters, paint a huge mural, use finger paints, paintbrushes, coloured chalks...


From 10am to 8pm. EL PESCADOR DE NÚVOLS

El Pescador de Núvols - Workshop (+4)

Price:3€

Come and play with the toy proposed in this workshop. It's a wooden cane and a helium balloon that are connected with a 15 metres long thread. It's a kite that always flies, a balloon that never gets lost.

10.30am & 12.30 pm. LA REPÚBLICA DELS CONTES

You will find an incredible place in the República dels Contes, that sometimes appears and disappears. It's a place full of magic and freedom where any story can come true. You will discover plenty of love stories, adventures, wars, happiness, fear, fantasies... together with climbing geese, patient princesses, artist fishes, giant snakes and incredible flowers.

Fada Iris lives in a magic world and she'll lead us to a place full of fantasy and illusion through her tales.

Petit Lilo is a huge puppy full of energy and very naughty. You'll find giant toys, soap bubbles, music and doggy mischief. Petit Lilo is going to be a family performance full of surprises.

The classic "Three little pigs" will be told with the concurrence of the public, children and adults. There's no need to speak English. Afterwards, all the family will be able to play "Snakes and ladders" board game.

4.30 pm. Story Time THE WORLD’S WORST WITCH

Lily is learning how to be a witch like her mother, but her skills aren't good. She doesn't know how to put spells or prepare potions and she is not good in flying with a broomstick. How will she manage to be a good witch?

Look at the sky and you'll see something that flies with an umbrella. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Nooo. It's Mag Lari!! And he is coming with a new family performance: Dolce Vita.

Dolce Vita is the performance of your life! It's an hour and a half full of visual magic and you'll take part in it. You'll want to repeat. Don't wait for someone to tell you!!

In charge of their authors, Susanna Peix (text) and Cristina Serrat (illustration). Presentation by Tramuntana editorial. 
Ferran was the best blacksmith of the kingdom. One morning, while he was working with the red-hot branding iron, three soldiers came into his workshop. He had to urgently see the king. I need one of your keys - the king required him- I need a key that opens the golden cage where the princess' heart is locked. 

6 pm. SCARY TALES
Toy History Museum (Rambla Vidal, 48-50)

For children from 8 years old. If you like mysterious stories and surprising endings, you can't miss it! Afterwards, there will be a visit to the scary tunnel of the Toy Museum.

Doctora Albertí, an important researcher, has disappeared. Her priceless works about the evolution of the human race up to the posthuman are locked in a deposit box. In the aim to opening it, a self-destruction mechanism has been activated. Will you be able to come into Doctora Alberti fascinating world and recuperate her works?


6.30 pm. Tale presentation EL DRAC PASQUAL DESCOBREIX L’ANTÀRTIDA

Edicions El Pirata - Storytelling/ Workshop(TP)

Pasqual dragon, which is not very good in spitting fire, has gone to the Antarctica. He will meet the animals that live there and he'll help them not  to get cold.

This is the first book by Max Olivetti, from the collection El drac Pasqual descobreix el món. Afterwards, bookmarks creative workshop with the characters of the story.

7.00 pm. GIANTS MEETING 
Itinerary: Starting in the Market square. 
Colla Gegantera Ganxona - Giants (TP)

It's one of the most important giants and big-heads meeting with the assistance of different Catalan groups. At 6pm all the giant will be standing in the Market square and then, they'll walk though the town centre.

7.30 pm. Tale presentation EN XERRIC, L’ESCARBAT MÉS EIXERIT

History workshops- school year 2016/2017 - Storytelling/ workshop (TP)

By Assumpta Mercader (from the tale by M. Àngels Suquet and Rosa Rourich during the History workshops of the school year 2016-2017: “The cork industry in Sant Feliu de Guíxols”).
En Xerric is a capricorn beetle who lives in the bark of a cork oak. He has the best life you can't imagine and lives with his friends Lia, the ant and Joan, the beetle. But one day, some men appeared and took the bark with the three friends to a cork factory. Afterwards, cork workshop. 


8pm. EL GRAN LLIBRE DE LES HISTÒRIES IMAGINADES DE LES TRADICIONS

Children will listen to traditional stories and will take part in the creation of a new book, in which they'll create new stories about traditions. The performance, a combination of storytelling and creation, will be lead by Parauleta Piruleta fairy who will bring this magic book together with a suitcase full of spells. 

9.15 pm. ENFILA S.A.

It deals with the story of two women of the fifties, who works at a textile factory. They weave the story of their lives among threads, bobbins, noise and the smells of the machines. Two stories that are very different each other. It's a homage to all the women that did not break the thread of their lives in difficult times.

Modern scary and mysterious tales for young people and adults in places that will give you goosebumps: the cemetery and the Monastery gardens.

Since we knew details from Mr. Tonet's life, we can't stop thinking about him and the fantastic stories that had happened to him. We met him by chance and he was a great discovery. He was a fascinating man that we want to share with everyone. We have built some of his stories. We made them with waste materials - wood, old furniture- and other tools we found in a waste centre. We have built games to let you know part of Mr. Tonet's trips. 

11.30am i 12:30 pm. MANNEKEN’S PISS

The time to inaugurate a new fountain of the town has come. Bronze, light and water and very special statues that apparently don't move. Wordless show by Toti Toronell, that plays with the maks language and a humour that remind the comedy of the absurd. Realism and superrealism; aesthetics, movement, surprises and interaction with the audience.

12 pm. Book presentation SEBASTIÀ I EL MAR

He doesn't tell anybody what he does there, but Sebastià, descendent of a fishermen family, comes into the woods every single day. His father is worried for the weird behaviour of his son, who doesn't get close to the sea. 


5pm. RATS! 
Itinerary: c/ Major, Rambla A. Vidal and Placeta Sant Joan 
Campiquipugui Produccions - Street performance (TP)

They come from everywhere: jump from the trees, come out of the sewers, trash bins and meet in the middle of the street in broad daylight... They don't hide and are huge. They have taken the town and there is no useful rat poison. Only one person can solve the problem: a flute player who comes from a far country. However, they look like funny rats!

 

6pm. CLOSING EVENT: HOT CHOCOLATE

Treasure hunt! We’ll leave from the beach with a small boat. We’ll pass through the most beautiful spots and coves of the coast to reach the “Cap de mort”.
