OILY FISH GASTRONOMIC CAMPAIGN

Innovation, tradition and emotion

The oily fish gastronomic campaign has been more than a campaign from the very beginning. The idea came up when the Town Council offered to restaurateurs an action to fight the economic crisis at the beginning of the 90’s. The campaign soon went beyond the kitchens and joined together tradition and innovation through plastic artists and fishermen, chefs and singers, bakers and writers, food critics and amateur cooks, barmans and pastry chefs, fishmongers and designers. All of them together with the inhabitants of the town helped oily fish to become an example of the identity of the town.

The oily fish gastronomic campaign enhances a simple product, which is a part of our tradition and that our cooks have brought to the kitchens of the best restaurants. It was not easy because the nutrients of the oily fish were not recognised at the very beginning. At present it is the opposite, the oily fish is well valued.

To put the oily fish to the place that deserves has been a success of our restaurateurs and fishermen, who guarantee the quality of the product every morning.
