BRUNYOL MARKET ( SWEET FRITTERS)

14th and 15th April in the Monastery square

On Friday 14th April

Craft demonstrations in the Monastery square: (all day)
*Carpenter`s lathe: This craftsman will produce wooden pieces: boxes, pens, containers... using different techniques and wood types.
*Wood cutter: You will see the process to produce wooden tools to use in the kitchen: spoons, spatulas, forks...
*Blacksmith: Before the factories, the iron objects were made by a blacksmith in his workshop. Do you want to see how he works with this material?

At the stalls of the Monastery square:
*Guided degustation of ratafies (Catalan sweet moonshine). You will taste different ratafies thanks to the Confraria de la Ratafia, de Santa Coloma de Farners. Price: 5 €. *You must go straightaway to the Confraria stall. A registration in advance is not required. 
 

Family activities in the Monastery square
*Music performance for children “Festa a la plaça”. At 12pm. We'll sing traditionnal songs and we'll dance all together. By Fefe i CIA. Suitable for all the family. Free activity.
*Traditionnal games made out of wood to play with your family. By Fefe et CIA. From 4.30 to 7.30pm. Suitable for all the family. Free activity.

Pastry-making workshops for adults:
*Chocolate Master-class. From 4 to 7pm. Pastry-making workshop led by Antoni Viñas, the chocolate chef of La Vienesa. Chocolate will be the main ingredient. There will be an introductory talk about the different types of chocolate and we will taste them at the Monastery. Afterwards, we'll go to the Ginjoler kitchen to make an Easter chocolate egg that the participants will bring home. A registration in advance is required at the Tourist Office. price: 8€. limited seats.

Workshops for children at the tents of the Monastery square:
*Clay workshop. From 11am to 2 pm and from 4 to 7pm. You can colour a red tile with the "brunyol" relieve of Sant Feliu de Guíxols in it. You can use different tools: fingers paints, brush, sponges...Price: 3 €. Led by Fangueig. A craftsman can help you to use the potter's wheel to make a piece. Then, you can decorate the piece with different techniques: printing, colours... Price: 3€. Led by Fangueig. *The ticket must be collected at the organisation tent. It will be carried out until supplies last. 
*Painting workshop. From 11am to 2pm. Colour an Easter bunny to decorate your bedroom. Price: 5€. *You must go straightaway to the tent. It will be carried out until supplies last. A registration in advance is not required. Led by Petit Art.

*Sweeties workshop. From 4 to 7pm. Create your own sweeties with different colours, tasts and shapes. Price: 5€. Led by Sucrart Gemo SC. *You must go straightaway to the tent. It will be carried out until supplies last. A registration in advance is not required.

On Saturday 15th April

Crafts demonstrations in the Monastery square (all day)
*Glassblower: This craftsman will produce glass objects, heating the material at 100 degrees and blowing into the object from the other side.
*Stonecutter: You will see how the stone was manipulated and how was shaped with a hammer.
*Woodcutter: You will see the process to produce wooden tools to use in the kitchen: spoons, spatulas, forks...
*Spinner: The spinner will show us how to spin and the tools they use... 
**Carpenter`s lathe: This craftsman will produce wooden pieces: boxes, pens, containers... using different techniques and wood types.

Family activities in the Monastery square

*“Easter Egg Hunt”. From 10am to 2pm. Based in the English tradition. Sack race, clues game in the town centre... If you finish the game with the 3 plastic eggs, we will give you 3 chocolate ones. You can practise English with your family during the game. You don't need previous English knowledge, the Play&Learn English School instructors will help you. Suitable for families with children from 3 years old. Length of the game 30-40 minutes. Staggered starts for teams. A registration in advance is not required. Free activity.
*“Queviures” Entertainment. At 12pm. We'll sing songs and dance with the friends of a food shop, who will explain us funny recipes and tell us about healthy food. By CIA De Parranda. Suitable for all people.

Workshop for children at the tents of the Monastery square
*Handicrafts. From 11am to 2pm. Colour a hanger to put it on a door or a wooden frame to decorate your bedroom. Price: 5€. Led by Escola D’Art La Pinzellada. You must go straightaway to the tent. It will be carried out until supplies last. A registration in advance is not required. 
*Pastry-making. From 11am to 2pm. Make your own Mona de Pasqua (chocolate). price: 7€. Led by Sweet & Sugar. *You must go straightaway to the tent. It will be carried out until supplies last. A registration in advance is not required.

*Brunyols for children. From 5pm. Learn how to make brunyols. Led by Joana Valls. Price: 3 €. *You must go straightaway to the tent. It will be carried out until supplies last. A registration in advance is not required.

*Carpenter's lathe workshop. From 11am to 2pm and from 4pm to 7pm. Learn how to cut wood and produce a knife or a key ring. Price: 3 €. Led by Ferran Peralta. *You must buy the ticket at the organisation tent. A registration in advance is not required. It will be carried out until supplies last.
*Leather workshop. From 11am to 2pm and from 4pm to 7pm. You can make a bracelets, necklaces out of leather, key rings,...Price: 1€ per piece *You must buy the ticket at the organisation tent. A registration in advance is not required. It will be carried out until supplies last.

Pastry-making workshops for adults:
*Different types of "Brunyols": Empordanès, made out of apple, elderberry... and more surprises. From 10am to 1pm. Participating workshop of brunyols led by the chef Carme Picas at the kitchen of the restaurant El Ginjoler. Afterwards, we'll taste the result with a cup of cava. A registration in advance is required at the Tourist Office. Price: 8€. Limited seats.
