2. Vía Ferrata
A Via Ferrata is a climbing route in a rocky massif, equipped with nails, steps, steel cables, chains and other materials that make the itinerary easy for people who don’t usually climb, both in vertical and horizontal sections. The mountains and the adventure can be enjoyed in a safe and exciting way. This activity is suitable for adults and children, beginners or climbers with experience.
Warning: From 2 December and until further notice, the 2nd section of the Via Ferrata will be closed to protect the nesting birds.
The Via Ferrata in Sant Feliu is the only one in Europe by the sea. The access is free, but you need to be equipped. The tour is divided into two sections: easy/medium (K2 at the Hüstler scale) and medium (K3). The users, who are halfway and do not wish to complete the difficult section, can come back to the starting point, going up by another path that has safety cables. The route is almost 500 meters long (ascent and descent) among rocky cliffs and has an average height of about 10 meters over the waves.
Starting point: Cala del Molí, in the middle of the coastal path that goes from Sant Feliu harbour to Sant Pol beach.
It is necessary to have a minimum of knowledge and to wear appropriate equipment: harness, mooring line with energy dissipator, safety carabiners, helmet and appropriate footwear. The recommended minimum age is 10 years and the recommended minimum height is 1.45m. You must have insurance to carry out the activity.
Aventura Experience and Break Away Ecoturime Ecoturime have qualified guides with experience in this kind of activity. You can rent all the equipment to do the activity.
Also you can rent the climbing equipment at Kayak Center Guíxols and Verdmar
